Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al-Basheer received here today the Saudi Relief delegation, led by Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Alsuwailem, the Chairman of the Saudi Red Crescent Society, currently on a fact-finding visit to the Sudan. At the outset of the meeting, Alsuwailem conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz to Al-Basheer. On his part, the president sent his greetings and thanks to the Saudi monarch for his support for the people of the Sudan. Al-Basheer praised the Saudi political and relief support for the Sudan, noting the strenuous efforts exerted by the Saudi Red Crescent to provide relief and assistance to needy Muslims all over the world. Following the meeting, the president lauded the fraternal relations binding the Kingdom and the Sudan, describing the relations as excellent and distinguished. The Kingdom and Sudan share full agreement on all positions towards regional and international issues, he said, adding that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a leading and pioneering role in relief of Muslims and needy people all over the world. --More 1908 Local Time 1608 GMT
