Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, received at his office in Riyadh today visiting Speaker of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Faisal bin Akef Al-Fayez, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At the outset of the meeting, Al Al-Sheikh welcomed Al-Fayez and the accompanying delegation, confirming the depth of relations binding the two kingdoms under the leaderships of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, noting that the relations between the two countries is ideal in terms of the Arab fraternal solidarity. He said the visit comes amid flourishing ties between the two countries to further coordinate positions at the regional and international platforms. For his part, the Jordanian senior parliamentarian lauded the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, towards Jordan to overcome its economic crisis, confirming the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia in addition to Egypt towards Arab stability and security . He pointed to the strength of ties binding the two countries, citing the good relations since late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and late King Abdullah I bin Al-Hussein of Jordan. Then the two speakers of the Saudi and Jordanian chambers signed a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Shura Council and Jordan's Senate aiming at forming a joint parliamentary friendship committee to enhance joint understanding between the two countries. The meeting was attended by a number of officials on the two parties. A luncheon party was then held in honor of the Jordanian guests.
