The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, has expressed his deep sorrow and distress at the loss of several lives in Mozambique and the electricity and communications cut-off from more than 500.000 residents in the port city of Beira, after the tropical storm Idai has swept away bridges and homes on Thursday. Dr. Al-Othaimeen expressed his sympathy to the Government of Mozambique and the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah to give them the strength to overcome the loss. He also expressed hope that the OIC Member States would provide urgent support for the people pf Mozambique in confronting these devastating effects and reducing the plight of the affected regions.
