Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held today a brainstorming session on its role in promoting development among member states, on the sidelines of the 46th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, taking place, in Abu Dhabi. The forum was organized by the OIC secretariat general. In his opening speech, Secretary General of OIC Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen said that the outcome of this session generate new ideas and initiatives to enhance cooperation within the OIC's framework, in the social and economic field, activate collective effort and improve the living standards of the Islamic world peoples. He added that OIC played an important role in expanding economic and trade relations and increasing collective efforts aimed at alleviating poverty, calling to, rapidly, set measures to promote an environment that attracts more foreign direct investments to member states.
