Federal authorities raided homes in New York and New Jersey Thursday as part of the ongoing investigation into the deadly 2001 anthrax mail attacks. CNN reported the raids occurred in Ocean County, New Jersey, and Wellsville, New York. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested no suspects since anthrax-laced letters started showing up in leading politicians' offices and media outlets while contaminating post offices and other mail. The letters were circulated shortly after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Five people died after being infected with anthrax, and 17 people became seriously ill.
