Two Turkish jets violated Greece's national air space to fly over the northeastern part of the Dodecannese island of Lemnos, the Defense Ministry said Thursday. According to press reports, the incident Wednesday activated Greek's Olympics anti-aircraft defense systems which were already on alert as the start of the Olympic Games on August 13 approaches. The defense ministry said two Turkish F4 fighter jets had entered Greek airspace. Officials said the foreign ministry was due to lodge an official complaint. Greece and Turkey have for decades disputed sovereignty rights in the Aegean.
