U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, who formerly headed Halliburton Co., provided sworn testimony in a probe of company's 1998 accounting practices, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said on Tuesday. Halliburton agreed to pay a $7.5 million penalty to settle the SEC probe, which also resulted in charges against a former chief financial officer and a former controller, the SEC said. Cheney was not charged.
