Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) launched here today. The program aims to transform the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia into a leading industrial power and a global logistics platform. The Minister of Transport, Dr. Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi said in his opening speech that the Kingdom is witnessing under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and follow up from HRH Crown Prince a rapid and unique process of progress and development, represented by the Kingdom's vision 2030. He added that the vision is based on three themes including building a vigorous society, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious nation, as the Vision states that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered to be the depth of Arab and Islamic nations, a pioneering investment power and a hub for linking the three continents. The Minister also stated that the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) aims at integrating the capabilities of the Kingdom's state agencies, as well as attracting and encouraging local and international investments through four main sectors including energy, industry, mining, and logistics to enable the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be a leading industrial power and a global logistics platform, pointing out that the government sector is the main force behind this program. Furthermore, the Minister explained that the number of initiatives currently underway is more than three hundred, stressing that the main driver of this program is the local and international private sector, pointing out that the program supported all its initiatives with a wide range of potentials and incentives to attract local and international investments with an amount exceeding one trillion seven hundred billion Riyals to contribute to achieving the objectives of the program, including raising the participation of the four main sectors in the Gross Domestic Program (GDP( to one trillion and two hundred billion Riyals, increasing the contribution of the local content to more than 700 billion riyals, creating one million and six hundred thousand new jobs, and raising the volume of Saudi exports to more than one trillion Riyals.
