The President of Board of Directors of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib discussed in a telephone call yesterday with the Secretary General of World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili a number of joint areas and programs of cooperation between the two sides, expanding cooperation and partnership between them, and future efforts to support and develop the tourism sector in the Kingdom. The Secretary General of the Organization commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's global tourism projects within the Kingdom's vision 2030 announced by HRH Crown Prince, including Qiddiyyah project, the Red Sea and other mega projects such as Al-Ula, Al-Diriyyah Gate, and other projects that will put the Kingdom on the world tourism map. He stressed the interest of the Organization in these projects and working to support them to achieve the Kingdom's vision of transforming into a major global tourist destination in the region. Mr Pololikashvili congratulated Mr. Al-Khatib on his appointment as President of Board of Directors of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage. For his part, Mr. Al-Khatib invited the Secretary of the World Tourism Organization to visit the Kingdom and being briefed on latest projects and tourism events, who expressed his thanks for this invitation, stressing to pay a visit to the Kingdom as soon as possible.
