Activities of Saudi Salam Forum, organized by the Peace Project for Cultural Communication, here today started at the headquarters of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), with the participation of a number of Saudi creative young people in the fields of humanitarian work, culture and thought as well as international personalities interested in Saudi affairs in terms of culture, heritage, arts, and history. Executive Director of Peace Project for Cultural Communication, Dr. Fahd bin Sultan Al Sultan, said in a speech at the opening ceremony that the organization of this forum aims to enhance the common concepts of coexistence, to bridge communication between Saudi society and other societies, and to promote the human depth and cultural heritage of Saudi society, and their coexistence through history with various races, cultures and religions. He pointed out that the Peace Project for Cultural Communication - the organizer of this forum - was established in 2015 to study the reality of the mental image of the Kingdom and analyze it to highlight the manifestations of coexistence and tolerance and cultural communication and provide the developmental achievements made by our country and to harmonize all its tracks and programs with the Kingdom's ambitious strategy expressed by the vision of the Kingdom 2030, noting that the Peace Project achieved initial successes which have been the result of support, cooperation and partnership with various governmental and private sectors, especially with a number of distinguished researchers and a large number of young men and women who believed that their national duty was to provide their best of the experiences, ideas and contributions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with all its values, heritage, culture, arts and literature to various countries and cultures of the world, thanking Saudi Press Agency for hosting the program "Saudi Salam" Forum. During the opening ceremony, he presented a film on short film Salam competition, which included a brief explanation of the competition, its goals and areas, and its vision as well as the jury and their biographies. The number of participating films reached 50 films, five of which won prizes worth 150,000 riyals. Jury member Abdullah Al-Kharayef delivered a speech in which he referred to the jury's work with the contestants and the extent of the challenges they faced during the assessment and evaluation of the participants' work, all of which were distinct.
