The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a major donor to the UN agency, in support of Palestine refugees and is an important and consistent partner of UNRWA. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia donated more than $160 million to UNRWA this year, including projects in all of its five regions, making it among the top donors to UNRWA in 2018, UNRWA said in a statement posted on its website in Beirut today. UNRWA received a new $50 million donation from the Kingdom in support of Palestinian refugees in their places of residence, noting that the Kingdom had transferred this generous and important donation to the agency, in the framework of the unprecedented support it received from its donors and partners worldwide, to overcome the worst financial crisis, it had ever known.
