Building Technology Motivation Initiative announced completion of construction of the first integrated two-day house model, using a modern Modular Concrete, as part of a plan to speed up construction process and provide citizens with high quality and competitive housing units, hence stimulating reliance on construction techniques and localization of their industry, in the Kingdom. Minister of Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Huqail, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Eng. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Abdul Karim and the Head of the Local Content and Private Sector Development Unit Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Sukeit visited the site of the house, which started work last Sunday, in cooperation with U.S. Katerra company. During their visit to the site today, they reviewed details of the implementation, praising what was achieved on the ground and thanked the partners for the achievement, especially for securing local content and also the private sector development unit Nama, the program of developing national industry and logistics and the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, for their respective parts played to make the project a success. Implementation of non-traditional methods in house construction contributes to the speed of citizens' ownership of houses and pump thousands of housing units that are characterized by high quality. In remarks to highlight the project, Al-Huqail explained that the housing program through a number of projects, is working to activate and enable these methods, in partnership with the private sector, in an effort to raise housing ownership to 60% by 2020 and 70% by 2030 within the Kingdom Vision 2030 set targets.
