The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received the 58th annual report of General Auditing Bureau (GAB) for 1438/1439 AH including the most prominent achievements and results of the financial audit as well as the performance control carried out by the Bureau over the bodies covered by its control during the year. This came when the King received GAB President Dr. Hossam bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Anqari and a number of the Bureau's officials at Al-Yamamah palace here today. During the meeting, the King appreciated the efforts being exerted by the GAB staff, wishing them all success in their duties to serve their religion and homeland. Then, Dr. Al-Anqari delivered a speech in which he said that "The total amounts collected, supplied or provided to the Public Treasury during the fiscal year amounted to about SR 9 billion, an increase of four times more than what was achieved in the previous fiscal year. The total amounts demanded to be collected by GAB amounted to about SR 38 billion, almost double the amount claimed back in the previous fiscal year. This substantial increase pertaining to the results of the collection reflected the high level of quality of the GAB's professional performance." He further said that with regard to the electronic link with the bodies covered by the GAB's control and after the issuance of the royal directive on the GAB's ownership of the rights of the tool to connect with the Electronic Monitoring System (SHAMEL) to be accessible to bodies free of charge, the electronic link has been already made with about (100) governmental bodies. The audience was attended by Minister of State and Cabinet's Member Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani.
