Kuwait has affirmed its support for efforts to resolve disputes in Yemen through peaceful means, especially if the United Nations is its facilitator. This came in a speech delivered by the Kuwaiti Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi during a meeting of the Security Council yesterday to discuss the situation in Yemen. This comes from Kuwait's belief in the growing importance of this Organization and its decisions taken by its various vital bodies, first and foremost the Security Council as the body responsible for the maintenance of international peace and security. He praised the great role played by the countries of the Coalition to Support of Legitimacy Yemen in overcoming all obstacles to holding this round, in addition to the serious involvement of the Yemeni parties through their active participation and their remarkable use with the efforts of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Martin Griffith.
