Yemeni Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh met here today with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, to discuss the latest developments, related to the peace process. In a meeting attended by Yemen's Foreign Minister Khalid al-Yamani, Yemeni Vice-President reiterated the firm stance of Yemeni legitimacy towards the option of lasting peace. Ali Mohsen noted continued intransigence, escalation of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia and continued targeting of civilians and the territory of Saudi Arabia, through launching of ballistic missiles, booby-trapped boats and the laying of mines. For his part, the UN envoy discussed a number of issues related to the arrangements for the upcoming consultations, expressing appreciation of having interest and keenness for the legitimacy, in Yemen and their continuous response to the opportunities of peace and concern for the interests of Yemenis and ending their suffering. The meeting reviewed a number of important issues related to holding the next round and focusing on confidence-building bridges to prove the seriousness and credibility of the coming talks.
