A Saudi oil tanker has arrived at Yemen's port of Aden on Monday, carrying the first batch of Saudi Arabia's oil derivatives grant worth $60 million per month to help operate electric power plants in all liberated Yemeni provinces as part of a program for the development and reconstruction of Yemen. The first batch of oil derivatives grant was received by the Saudi ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, who is also Executive Director of "Isnad" Center for Comprehensive Humanitarian Operations in Yemen, and Supervisor of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen; Yemeni Minister of Oil and Minerals Aws bin Abdullah Al Oud and a number of the Yemeni officials. The oil company started distributing 62,000 tons of diesel and 25,000 tons of heating oil to ten governorates to operate 64 power stations around the clock, under the supervision of the Yemeni government, benefiting more than 8.5 million Yemeni citizens. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al Jaber affirmed that the arrival of the first batch of the oil derivatives grant came as an extension of the continuous donation ordered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for the Yemeni people. "The development of Yemen will not wait for the approval of the Houthi-backed militias of Iran to accept political solutions and where the Houthis looted the Central Bank of Yemen and deliberately starved the Yemeni people. We have begun development and reconstruction. We are doing what we see as a relief and development priority for all Yemenis," ambassador Al Jaber said. "The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen is a realistic example of the Saudi seriousness in helping Yemen to build a better and bright future for the Yemeni people," he added, affirming that it is obvious and clear that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks to develop and reconstruct Yemen while the Iranian-backed Houthi militias seek to destroy. Al Jaber asserted that Iran is devoting time and resources to the smuggling of missiles and fighters, while the Kingdom is working on a comprehensive construction for all Yemeni needs. The Yemeni government and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen agreed to start distribution of the contents of the consignment in coordination with a local committee including representatives of the oil company, the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, the General Electricity Corporation, the Central Organization for Control and Accounting, the Commerce Chamber and the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Yemen.
