The Secretary-General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, has condemned the media campaign against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the disappearance of Saudi citizen Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey. GCC Secretary General said that what is being circulated in some Arab and international media is false accusations and claims that are not based on facts and aim to harm the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Zayani said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that some media violated media's honorable principles and codes , and have gone away from professionalism and objectivity, disseminating lies and falsehoods for obvious political purposes, stressing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always maintained its firm traditions and values, taking into account international regulations, conventions and norms. He stressed that the KSA has proved its keenness to reveal the fact on disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi as one of its citizens and did not hesitate in requesting to form a joint committee of inquiry with the Turkish side to reveal the circumstances of the case with full transparency .
