King Abdullah University for Science & Technology (KAUST) signed at its headquarters in Thol today a major international research agreement with US Lockheed Martin Corporation, the world's largest security and aerospace company. The agreement is the first of its kind that Lockheed Martin signed outside the United States. The two sides announced their cooperation in the field of flexible electronics, which includes the integration of the flexible solar cells developed by KAUST into the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or commonly known as drones, to enhance their operational endurance capabilities and support their practical applications across a variety of sectors. Under the agreement, Lockheed Martin and KAUST agreed to cooperate in various technology projects that support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
