The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the selection of Riyadh, the capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the headquarters of the Regional Safety Oversight Organization in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA-RSOO). The MENA-RSOO aims to promote the safe and effective use of civil aviation within and outside its member states to develop guidance materials, conduct studies, training and consultancy and to assist Member States in the development and implementation of the state's security program, in addition to helping them to fulfil their obligations. GCAA President Abdul Al- Hakim bin Mohammed AlTamimi, said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of MENA-RSOO headquarters has confirmed the KSA's great leading role in the field of civil aviation due to the great support being provided for it by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince.
