Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Okaz newspaper in its editorial entitled ''Makkah Conference ... There is no alternative to reconciliation'' wrote that as part of the Kingdom's sustained efforts in its roles and responsibilities towards the Muslim world, Makkah Conference will be held today for reconciliation between Afghan factions. The paper noted that participants in International Conference of Muslim Scholars on Peace and Stability in the Republic of Afghanistan to be held in Jeddah and Makkah over two consecutive days include a group of Muslim scholars from around the world to achieve reconciliation and return stability and security to their country in preparation for the start of reconstruction and folding the black page in the history of Afghanistan. Al-Youm newspaper in its editorial entitled ''Food basket and cultural heritage'' wrote that Al-Ahsa has been a basket of food mainly for Arabian Peninsula, Gulf, Arab, African and some friendly countries as it has a special agricultural status and produces the largest quantity of best dates in the world, pointing also to the registry of AlAhsa oasis on UNESCO's archaeological site list making it an attraction destination for tourists from all over the world.
