The Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations has sent a statement to the United Kingdom House of Commons on current situation in Hodeidah Governorate and Yemen. The Coalition said that it is watching the situation in Hodeidah with great concern over the safety of civilians in the city, and that it has been monitoring the situation in Yemen and Hodeidah since 2014. In its statement, the Coalition also said that many human rights advocates have been arrested and displaced since the Al-Houthi Militias coup in September 2014, where a number of human rights defenders and advocates have been arrested, tortured and hidden by the Militias, expressing concern that humanitarian and international organizations have failed to monitor these violations. The Yemeni Coalition also confirmed that it is working on monitoring violations and that it is necessary to remind the international community and UN humanitarian agencies of violations by Al-Houthi Militias, which they might not know or ignore.
