Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Okaz and Al-Riyadh newspapers commented on the State's budget for the first quarter of 2018, announced by Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan yesterday, saying that it is full of promises and broad hopes confirming a significant progress in financial initiatives planned by the government in the financial balance program, reassuring that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is moving in the right direction confidently to achieve the goals of Vision 2030. The papers noted that revenues in the report jumped by 15% over the same period in 2017, amounting to SR 166.2 billion, and non-oil revenues, the most prominent goal of the Vision 2030 jumped by 63% in comparison to 2017, underscoring the success of continuing efforts to diversify sources of income, achieve financial sustainability and the success of the revenue growth strategy, indicating that the report of the Ministry of Finance highlighted government expenditure discipline, government expenditure balance , and raising its efficiency which would boost economic growth rates and increase the expected benefits of government expenditure plans.
