The General Authority of Civil Aviation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Cyprus, including opening the airspace between the two countries for commercial transport. On the other hand, the GACA and the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority of Greece have finalized their bilateral discussions to reach a new form of bilateral cooperation agreement, which resulted in updating the existing bilateral agreement between the two countries in accordance with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization. The project included new regulations related to safety, aviation security and commercial opportunities of the carriers of the two countries.
