The Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers held here today its 149th session under chairmanship of Saudi Minister of State for African Affairs Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Qattan in the presence of Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abu Al-Ghait and Speaker of the Arab Parliament Dr. Mishaal Al-Solami. A wide-range agenda is awaiting the ministers, including the agenda of the 29th Arab Summit to be held in Riyadh, the latest developments of the Palestinian Cause, the Arab-Israeli conflict, activation of the Arab Peace Initiative, ways of combating terrorism and a number of issues pertaining to the Arab joint action. The ministers are also scheduld to tackle the latest developments in Syria, Libya and Yemen in addition to the crisis with Iran. The meeting will deal with the Arab plan to address the Iranian interference in the Arab internal affairs. Informed sources said that the ministers will also discuss an official note submitted by the Republic of South Sudan to join the Arab League. Before holding the 149th session of the Arab League Council, four Arab ministerial meetings were held to thwart Israel's candidacy to occupy a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council, address the Israeli plans in the African continent, follow-up the Arab Peace Initiative and pursue the latest developments of the crisis with Iran.
