A new impetus to relations and strengthening of friendship between The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom will be achieved by the official visit by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, as part of a visit that is part of efforts to bolster closer cooperation, investment opportunities and development of the Kingdom's economic future as a global economic power and to ensure the sustainability of its growth and development in light of the Vision 2030. The visit is the first of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to Britain since becoming crown prince on the 26th of Ramadan 1438 H corresponding to June 21, 2017. The visit is particularly important in light of the rapid international and regional changes, which require an exchange of views and coordination of the positions between the two countries. The British-Saudi relations, established by the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud and the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill during the historic meeting held on the 4th of Rabee Al-Awal 1364 AH, corresponding to the seventeenth of February 1945 G., have witnessed a continuous development in all fields to achieve the common interests of both countries and their friendly peoples. The political relations between the kingdom and Britain goes back to 1927 when diplomatic relations were established. The political relations between the two countries continued at the highest levels and on various occasions through mutual visits and meetings between officials of both countries to further coordinate and discuss and deepen cooperation and strengthen their relations in all fields. In a historical review of the most important visits between the two countries' leaderships, the last King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud paid an official visit to Britain in 1967, while he led the first Saudi mission to Britain in 1919. In 1981, the late King Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud paid an official visit to Britain, which resulted in strengthening relations and developing them in many fields. The late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, had many visits to Britain, including visits in 1975, 1976, 1980, when he was crown prince - and in 1987 after he took over. --More 22:55 LOCAL TIME 19:55 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1734032
