His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, here on Tuesday chaired the session of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs. During the session, the council reviewed a number of issues on its agenda, including the presentation by the Ministry of Finance on the fourth quarter report on the performance of the Kingdom's budget for the previous fiscal year. The report included a review of the financial performance of the state budget, the index of operating and capital expenses and deficit and public debt indicators. The council also discussed the annual report on the vision of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030 presented by the Office of Strategic Management of the Council of Economic Affairs and Development, which included a detailed presentation of the progress achieved during 2017 in all vision realization programs, developments of macroeconomic indicators, indicators of vision objectives, impact and outcome analysis and the most prominent risks. The council also reviewed the presentation of the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat and Income in respect of the implementation of the provisions of the Royal Decree No. 32749 dated on 16/7/1438 AH, based on the directives of the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Council for Economic Affairs and Development, to review Ministerial Decision No. (1005) dated on 28/4/1428 AH on Zakat for banks and financial companies in light of practical applications during the last period and in accordance with the public interest. The council took the necessary recommendations on these issues.
