US President, Indian Prime Minister Discuss Crisis in Maldives

US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed concern about the political crisis in Maldives as well as discussing the situation in Afghanistan.
"Both leaders expressed concern about the political crisis in Maldives and the importance of respect for democratic institutions and rule of law," the White House said in a statement on a telephone conversation Thursday between Trump and Modi, dpa reported.
