British Special Representative to Syria Martin Longden stressed that the international community will not provide assistance for the reconstruction of Syria, and that stability, in Syria will not be achieved, unless there are an actually real transition, excluding Assad regime, expressing British support for US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's pledge to the help the Syrian people, to achieve a new political future. Longden stressed, in a statement published by the British Foreign Ministry on Sunday, commitment of his country and the United States to support Geneva peace process, sponsored by the United Nations, between the Syrian parties and to implement Security Council resolution no. 2254. The British official called on Assad regime to respect the established ceasefire, ensure the protection of civilians and allow unimpeded access to delivery of humanitarian aid, stressing Britain's commitment to continue to prosecute human rights violators as well as offenders of international humanitarian law, in Syria.
