Yemeni Foreign Ministry Addresses Urgent Messages to International Community on Violations of Houthi Militias Against Civilians
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 11 - 01 - 2018

The Foreign Ministry of Yemen has addressed urgent messages to United Nation Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Ismael Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Ambassadors of the 18+ peace-sponsoring countries in Yemen and the High Commission for Human Rights on crimes and violations being committed by Houthi coup militias against civilians and political forces opposing to it.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry said in its messages that the violations of coup militias increased during the month of December and after the assassination of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh and deformation of his body, and the abuse of leaders, members and supporters of the General People's Congress, in addition to deliberate executions of detainees in the prisons of militias.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry stressed that these acts are terrorist acts, not different from the acts of any terrorist group, embodying the terrorist approach practiced by Houthi militias since its inception so far in liquidation of its opponents, seeking to terrorize the entire society to disseminate its terrorist agenda and heinous crimes to serve Tehran aiming at creating a state of instability in the region and spreading anarchy that serves the agenda of the mullahs of Iran and their tendencies to control the most important region in the world's economies, according to official Yemeni News Agency.
It added that the crimes being committed by Houthi militias are a violation of the international humanitarian law, constitute war crimes against the humanity, contrary to international norms and laws and expose its perpetrators to legal accountability before international justice courts as war criminals. It indicates that the continuation of such violations puts the international community without exception, especially human rights organizations before their moral, humanitarian and legal responsibilities.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry called upon the United Nations, its special envoy to Yemen, peace sponsoring states and Human Rights Commission to condemn these crimes, intervene urgently to stop them, rescue those who are still detained in the prisons of militias or their detention centers set in military sites and being used as their Human shields.
It called on the international community to force coup militias to end all manifestations of repression and arrest and release all prisoners and abductees in prisons and their detention centers in various provinces.
