The head of the Syrian opposition delegation, Dr. Nasr Al-Hariri, has confirmed the opposition's commitment to the political process in Geneva on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254 and the Geneva Declaration 1 to achieve peace in Syria, saying that the opposition's strategic choice is to reach a political solution. In a press conference at the end of the 8th round of talks in Geneva, Dr. Al-Hariri expressed the opposition's regret as it did not find in Geneva its partner in peace, where the delegation of the Syrian regime refused to engage seriously in any negotiations, while its forces continued bombarding the besieged Eastern Ghouta and preventing the entry of humanitarian assistance to its civilian population and refused to allow medical evacuations of patients and injured persons.
