Britain's FTSE 100 shed 0.2 percent to 7,482.37. Wall Street was poised to open higher. Dow futures rose 0.2 percent to 24,688.00 and broader S&P 500 futures inched up 0.1 percent to 2,672.60. Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 index dipped 0.3 percent to 22,694.45 while South Korea's Kospi gave up earlier gains to end 0.5 percent lower at 2,469.48. Hong Kong's Hang Seng slipped 0.2 percent to 29,166.38 and the Shanghai Composite lost 0.3 percent to 3,292.44. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 shed 0.2 percent to 6,011.30. Southeast Asian indexes were mostly higher. The dollar rose to 112.84 Japanese yen from 112.54 yen late Tuesday. The euro slipped to $1.1822 from $1.1826. Oil futures rebounded. Benchmark U.S. crude rose 11 cents to $56.71 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract fell 54 cents to settle at $56.60 per barrel on Wednesday. Brent crude, used to price international oils, added 38 cents to $62.82 per barrel in London.
