The 1st International Conference of ASEAN Muslims organized by Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance concluded its sessions here today in presence of scholars and preachers from ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and South Asia. The conference issued a statement appreciating the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to cooperate with ASEAN Muslims in organizing an annual conference under the theme "A Nation of Moderation". Participants commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Malaysia for their efforts to maintain the moderation of Islam, its tolerance, dissemination of moderation, and combating extremism.
