The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, strongly condemned the terrorist attack, which took place on Friday and targeted a mosque in the city of El Arish, in the Arab Republic of Egypt, resulting in martyrdom and injury of hundreds of innocent worshipers and describing it as a heinous terrorist crime, which contravenes with Islamic Shari'a principles and international charters. The Secretary-General stressed that targeting safe worshipers in places of worship is a heinous terrorist crime which should not be tolerated, stressing the ability of Egypt to uncover the circumstances of this terrorist crime, arrest the criminal perpetrators and bring them to justice and concluding by calling on the international community to condemn such heinous terrorist crimes, expressing heartfelt condolences to the victims' families and to the brotherly government and people of Egypt, and wishing the wounded speedy recovery.
