Bayern Munich increased their lead atop the Bundesliga to six points on Saturday with a comfortable 3-0 win over local rivals Augsburg, according to dpa. The outcome of the Bavarian derby in Munich was never in doubt as Arturo Vidal and Robert Lewandowski gave the hosts a first half lead. Lewandowski completed his brace early in the second half to kill the tie. Second-placed RB Leipzig lost ground to the leaders as they were held 2-2 at 10-man Bayer Leverkusen while Borussia Moenchengladbach went third by downing Hertha Berlin 4-2 in the late game. Hoffenheim drew 1-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt, bottom club Cologne's miserable season continued with a 1-0 loss at Mainz and Wolfsburg beat Freiburg 3-1. On Friday Borussia Dortmund extended their slump by losing 2-1 at VfB Stuttgart. Bayern provided boss Jupp Heynckes with a 500th Bundesliga win as player and coach against only minor resistance from midtable Augsburg.
