The Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources expressed here today full support to the energy sector, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the face of an aggressive action targeting a pipeline, in the area of Buri, resulting in suspension of pumping oil to the Kingdom of Bahrain, denouncing this utterly cowardly action. The ministry praised also ability of the concerned authorities, in Bahrain, to put out the fire resulted from the aggression and success in containing it in a record time, stressing that it puts all potentials to support the energy sector, in the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, confirming that it raised security alert, at all facilities and that all facilities enjoy the highest levels of protection and safety standards. On a related event, Saudi Aramco issued a clarification regarding the exposure of the crude oil pipeline, exposed to a sabotage incident, in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In clarifying statement, the company said that: referring to inquiries about the sabotage incident, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, hence Saudi Aramco wishes to clarify that, at 11pm on Friday 10 November 2017, a fire broke out, at a crude oil pipeline, in Hamad Town, Kingdom of Bahrain, resulting in the immediate suspension of crude oil pumping from the pumping station, in Dhahran, which feeds Bapco refinery, in Bahrain through this pipeline. However, the clarification added that no damage or casualties was reported, in the incident. The area of incident was sealed, people were evacuated and valves connected to this pipeline were isolated, as investigations are in progress to determine causes of the accident, completion of maintenance and rehabilitation of the pipeline.
