US President Donald Trump will not visit the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea during his visit to the region next week, the White House said Tuesday, according to dpa. "Instead Trump will visit a US army garrison. The president is not going to visit the DMZ," a senior administration official told reporters. "There is not enough time in the schedule. It would have had to have been the DMZ or Camp Humphreys." Vice President Mike Pence had visited the DMZ earlier this year, as had Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defence James Mattis. "It's becoming a little bit of a cliche, frankly," the official said.
