The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia representing in State Security Presidency imposed sanctions on 11 individuals and 2 entities, targeting leaders, financiers, and facilitators of the ISIL in Yemen (ISIS-Y) and al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). This action was taken in partnership with the United State of America, as the co-chair of the recently established International Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC), and also included the other TFTC member states. Today's collective actions - the first taken by the TFTC since its creation in 21st May 2017 which aims to deepen the USA partnership with Gulf countries to disrupt the financing of terrorist groups of mutual importance. ISIS-Y and AQAP pose a direct security threat to the interests of all TFTC members. The State Security Presidency designated all of these individuals and entities pursuant to the law of Terrorism Crimes and Financing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in accordance with the United Nations resolution no. 1373 (2001).
