Convening in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi-Swedish joint committee discussed today ways of developing trade relations between the two kingdoms in what contributes to governmental as well as private sectors, in various domains and reviewed investment opportunities. Minister of Trade and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi and his Swedish counterpart attended the opening session of the committee, in the presence of a number of officials from government agencies and businessmen from both countries. During the meeting, Al-Qasabi stressed the need to build bridges of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the two friendly countries, adding that deepening relations and common interests between Saudi Arabia and Sweden is an important incentive for augmenting the size of trade, economic relations and developing common ties between the two business communities. For his part, the Swedish minister of trade praised the achievements of the Kingdom in the past decades at all levels, especially in the infrastructure, health, education and other sectors, as well as the pursuit of the Swedish private sector to build business and investment partnerships with Saudis. The meetings of the Saudi-Swedish joint committee will be held in conjunction with the joint business council meetings and the business forum, too, which aim to, effectively, contribute to the government and private sectors in the development of bilateral relations in various fields.
