The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen has, on behalf of the entire Members of the OIC, conveyed his condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and the people and government of Somalia over the gruesome killing of more than three hundred innocent people in Somalia's worst terrorist attack that occurred in Mogadishu, 14th October 2017. In the condolences message which he conveyed through a letter addressed to Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed, the President of Somalia, Dr. Al-Othaimeen described the attack as act of pure evil which was destined to fail. He expressed the solidarity of the OIC to the people and government Somalia in this period of mourning. The Secretary General also reiterated to the President OIC firm support to the Government of Somalia's effort to achieve sustained peace and stability in the country and the region as a whole.
