Dr. Abdullah bin Abdualziz Al-Rabiah, Adviser at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of King Salman Center for Humanitarian Relief and Aid (KSRelief), received here today Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi. In his speech during the meeting, Dr. Al-Rabiah welcomed the Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister, stressing that this center was established upon directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in order to be a pioneering center for humanitarian work and work through partnerships with the United Nations and international organizations in accordance with the international humanitarian law. Al-Rabiah stressed that the center, since its first day, committed to neutrality and worked its first project in Yemen where the two countries enjoy fraternal, family and economic bonds for decades. It is not surprising that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports the Yemeni people. "During two years, the KSRelief works with all professionalism in all Yemeni regions and has been able to implement many projects. In two years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided more than $8 billion as aid to Yemen. The center still provides projects exceeding 153 projects. The KSRelief focused on very giant projects dealing with an important segment of the Yemeni people, children and mothers. More than 80 projects targeted the children and more than 68 projects targeted the mothers. The center also faced great challenges by the Houthi militias in the beneficiary areas, especially those controlled by the militias," Al-Rabiah said. "The Center has faced great obstacles in delivering medical assistance when cholera cases were increased. In spite of these obstacles, the center worked professionally and helped the Yemeni people through rehabilitating the children who were used by the Houthi militias as war tools and human shields," Al-Rabiah added, pointing out that more than 20,000 children were used as war tools and human shields where the center began a program that rehabilitates more than 2,000 children. Al-Rabiah confirmed that our partners from the United Nations organizations and international organizations attested to the importance of these huge projects carried out by the KSRelief in collaboration with the Yemeni Higher Relief Committee. --More 23:18 LOCAL TIME 20:18 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1675960
