Egypt today denounced the attack targeting the UN base in north east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, killing a soldier and injuring twelve. In a statement, the foreign ministry confirmed the stance of Egypt's government and people with Democratic Congo's government and people within the framework of the historic relations between the two countries, offering condolence to the family of the victim and wishing the injured a quick recovery. The statement lauded the important role being played by the UN peace-keeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo for bringing about security and stability in the African country.
