Manchester City signed England defender Kyle Walker from Tottenham on a five-year contract on Friday. City didn't disclose the transfer fee, which British media reported as an initial 45 million pounds (59 million dollars) plus another 5 million pounds in add-ons. "I am thrilled to be signing for City and can't wait to get started," Walker told the club's website, according to dpa. "Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level." The 27-year-old right-back made 228 appearances during his eight seasons at Tottenham and was twice voted by his peers to the players' Team of the Year. He's also played 27 times for England since making his debut in 2011. "Kyle is a fine bull-back, one capable of producing quality at both ends of the pitch," Txiki Begiristain, City's director of football, said. "He is now one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and justifiably an England regular." Walker becomes City's third summer signing after midfielder Bernardo Silva and goalkeeper Ederson Moraes.
