The Saudi Chargé d'affaires to South Korea and the ambassadors of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and of Egypt met here today with South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Ambassador Kyo Lee Jong. The representatives of the four countries presented a detailed explanation of the motives that a group of countries, including their countries, called for cutting off diplomatic and consular relations and closing their land, sea and air spaces with the State of Qatar in response to its financial support ,political support and media coverage of a number of terrorist groups and militias of Radical opposition to push them to interfere in the internal affairs of their countries and damage the foundations of security and stability. They explained that this decision would not have been taken by their countries unless there is a proven evidence of the infamous behavior of the Government of Qatar in supporting terrorism in their countries and other countries. They emphasized to the South Korean official their governments' assertion of their unified and firm stance towards Qatar, and look forward to the Qatari government changing its approach, correcting its foreign policy, committing to its commitments and abandoning its various support for terrorism to safeguard the security and stability of the region in general. They also stressed the keenness of their countries not to harm the people of Qatar due to the misdeeds of Qatar's government, briefing the Korean side on the justifications and bases of the boycott countries' position on Qatar and the reasons for their actions. The Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs in the Republic of Korea expressed his understanding of the reasons for requesting the meeting, stressing the importance of all countries in the region to achieve peaceful solutions through dialogue.
