US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson received here today Adel bin Ahmad Al-Jubeir, Minister of Foreign Affairs. At the outset of the meeting, the US Secretary of State welcomed Al-Jubeir and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the two sides held a session of talks on bilateral relations between the two friendly states and joint efforts on combating terrorism and extremism. They also discussed the latest developments in the region and world. Following the meeting, Al-Jubeir told reporters that severing relations with Qatar is not blockade. "Seaports and airports in the State of Qatar are open. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia bans the Qatari airlines and aircraft to cross the Saudi airspace," he added. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia prevents the Qatari ships to enter its waters. The Kingdom exercises its sovereign right in making procedures," he stressed. Al-Jubeir disclosed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is ready to provide food and medical assistance to Qatar, if needed. The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
