The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the two bombings in central Baghdad resulting in the deaths of a large number of innocent victims. The Secretary-General of the Organization Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen expressed condolence and sympathy to the families of the victims, wishing them speedy recovery. He pointed out that these acts of terrorism targeting innocent citizens during the holy month of Ramadan are contrary to the teachings of the Islamic religion and all divine laws and humanitarian and moral principles. Al-Othaimeen urged the Iraqi government, people and all political factions to confront terrorism in all its forms and images aimed at provoking strife among its sects, stressing the organization's commitment to continue coordination with the Iraqi government to hold the Makkah II conference in the ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability in Iraq.
