Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, stressed that the leaders of the GCC discussed a number of issues pertaining to enhance their joint action and ways of enhancing them in all fields. He added that they also discussed the latest developments in the region and international efforts in combating terrorism. This came during remarks he made following the 17th Consultative Meeting of the GCC leaders held in Riyadh today in presence of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior. The GCC Secretary General pointed out that the meeting dealt with the reports submitted by the GCC ministerial council and approved outcomes of the joint meeting of the GCC interior, foreign and defense ministers. Al-Zayani added that the GCC leaders approved recommendations of the development and economic affairs commission regarding a completion of the requirements of the Customs Union and the GCC Common Market in order to deepen economic integration among the GCC countries and achieve the interests and prosperity of the GCC citizens.
