The United Nations Security Council on Monday strongly condemned North Korea's recent ballistic missile launches, describing the country's actions as "highly destabilising behavior." North Korea's state-run news agency KCNA said the country had on Sunday successfully launched a new type of ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. The Security Council condemned Pyongyang's "highly destablising behavior and flagrant and provocative defiance" of resolutions passed previously demanding North Korean denuclearization, in a statement released to press. The Security Council vowed to implement tougher sanctions against Pyongyang and repeated its demand that North Korea conduct no further nuclear and ballistic missile tests, and also condemned the previous North Korean missile launch on April 28.
