Executive Council of the Organization of the Asian-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) opened its 42nd meeting in the Lebanese capital today, being organized by the Lebanese National Information Agency, under the patronage of Lebanese Minister of Information Melhem Riachy and in presence of the chairman of the organization and the Director General of Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) Aslan Aslanov. In a speech at the opening session, the Lebanese minister stressed the importance of keeping pace with technological development and protecting professional ethics, calling on news agencies to set standards for the protection of objectivity and protection of media ethics in addition to preparating of standards that enhance the logic of communication and culture of dialogue among peoples.
