The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has provided a $ 130 million grant to support health sectors in Jordan and Lebanon as part of the Bank's efforts to help meet the emerging challenges of the Syrian refugee crisis. IDB announced today that its contribution to financing two health projects in Jordan and Lebanon following the approval of the Global Concessional Financing Facility Committee at its meeting held in Washington on April 20, 2017 aims at reducing funding costs and thereby reducing the financial burden on Jordan and Lebanon due to the crisis of Syrian refugees . It pointed out that the cost of funding "Emergency Health Project" in Jordan amounted to $ 150 million, of which the Islamic Development Bank contributes $ 100 million. The project aims to provide health services for Jordanians and Syrian refugees alike. In Lebanon, the cost of the project "Strengthening Lebanon's Health Sector Capacity" is $ 150 million, with the Islamic Development Bank contributing an amount of $ 30 million. The project aims at strengthening the primary health care system and community awareness to meet the basic health needs of Syrians refugees and the Lebanese affected by the Syrian crisis.
