The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterated its firm position in supporting of Palestinian people and its standing up for them for having their inalienable rights, topped by the right to self-determination and establishment of independent and fully sovereign Palestinian State.
This came in the speech of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia before the UN Security Council yesterday on the item of open debate on "The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue" given by The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to UN Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Maalami.
At the beginning of the speech, Al-Maalami expressed his congratulations to the Ambassador of the United States of America to the United Nations on assuming her new office in the administration of President Donald Trump, and he said "I am confident that the historical relations between our two countries will witness further understanding, convergence of views and cooperation due to our common interests and values, and I also would like to congratulate you on your assumption of the chairmanship of the Security Council for this month. We have seen in past days and weeks a new spirit and a critical look aimed at developing and reconsidering towards some of what may have been accepted", he said .
He added "I also thank you for convening this open debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue, which is undoubtedly the focus of conflict in the region and the focal point of all conflicts in which it has became a paper traded by corrupt regimes such as the Iranian regime and Assad regime and its working tools such as Hezbollah terrorist.
Al-Maalami added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirms its firm position of supporting the Palestinian people and its standing up for having their inalienable rights, topped by the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state on all the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 including (Quds), In accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and its relevant resolutions and international legal standards and principles. the Kingdom also calls upon Israel to withdraw from all occupied Arab territories, including the occupied Syrian Arab Golan and the Lebanese Shab'a Farms and desisting from building Settlements on the Palestinian territories as illegal settlements and a serious obstacle to peace process.
